Counsellor

Fiona

Qualified Counsellor, NCPS Registered

I'm often described as a deeply empathic counsellor, and I pride myself on offering a calm, compassionate space where you can feel truly heard, understood, and supported.

You might be coming to counselling feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low, or unsure of who you are anymore, especially during times of change. For many women, midlife and menopause can bring a shift in identity, emotions, relationships, and self-confidence that can feel confusing, isolating, and difficult to navigate.

This is an area I feel particularly passionate about. I offer menopause counselling and support for women experiencing the emotional and psychological impact of perimenopause and menopause, whether that's anxiety, low mood, irritability, loss of identity, relationship changes, or a sense that things just don't feel like they used to. Together, we can gently explore what this stage of life means for you and help you reconnect with a sense of stability, clarity, and self.

Alongside this, I have a special interest in adoption-related counselling, working with adult adoptees, birth families, and adoptive parents. This work is close to my heart and shaped by both personal and professional experience. Prior to training as a counsellor, I worked with adoptive and birth families, giving me a deeper understanding of the complexities and emotional impact that adoption can bring.

I also support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, bereavement, and loss, areas that often overlap with both adoption and midlife experiences. I recognise that these challenges can feel overwhelming, and at times, very lonely. My role is to walk alongside you with care, empathy, and understanding.

I am aware that many people come to counselling feeling unheard or misunderstood in their lives. Because of this, I place great importance on building a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, validated, and able to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the NCPS, and I am deeply committed to the people I work with. I've been fortunate to receive incredibly positive feedback from clients, which reflects the warmth, care, and dedication I bring to each session.
