Kristina is a gentle, warm and compassionate counsellor who believes that everyone deserves to feel heard, understood and accepted. She has a real passion for working with children and young people, and understands how important it is to have someone in your corner when life feels confusing, difficult or overwhelming.
We all have our own stories. Sometimes, we understand what’s happening inside us; other times, we might struggle to find the words, make sense of our feelings or explain why we’re behaving in a certain way. For children and young people especially, this can be difficult to navigate when they’re still learning about themselves and the world around them.
Kristina offers a space where you don’t have to have all the answers. You can take your time, be yourself and explore whatever is going on, knowing that you’ll be met with warmth, patience and understanding.
Kristina works from a person-centred approach, placing the relationship between counsellor and client at the heart of her work. She believes that feeling safe, accepted and genuinely listened to creates the foundations for exploring difficult experiences and making sense of what’s happening in our lives.
She is also a Humanistic Integrative counsellor, which means she draws on different therapeutic ideas and approaches to understand each person’s experiences and tailor the work to their individual needs. There is no set formula or expectation of how counselling should look. It’s about getting to know you, understanding your world and working together at a pace that feels right.
Sometimes, the things we struggle with today have roots in experiences from much earlier in our lives. Our relationships, family experiences and the messages we receive growing up can all influence how we see ourselves, how we relate to others and how we respond to the world around us.
Having the opportunity to explore these things can help us understand ourselves with greater kindness, find new ways of looking at situations and begin to make changes that feel right for us.
Working with children and young people is something particularly close to Kristina’s heart. She has extensive experience supporting people aged 4 to 25 and, before becoming a counsellor, spent many years working in primary schools, pre-schools and colleges.
This experience has given her an understanding of the different stages of growing up and the challenges that can come with them. Every child and young person is different. What feels small to an adult can feel enormous to a child, and sometimes behaviour is the only way a young person knows how to communicate something they don’t yet have the words for.
Kristina is passionate about looking beyond the behaviour and understanding the feelings, experiences and needs underneath it.
She can support children and young people who are experiencing anxiety, low mood, family difficulties, behavioural challenges or the pressures that can come with growing up. She also has an interest in supporting neurodivergent young people, including those with ADHD and autism, helping them better understand themselves and their experiences.
For parents and carers, knowing your child is struggling can be incredibly difficult. You may not know what’s wrong, how best to support them or where to turn. Having a safe space for your child to explore their feelings can be a valuable part of helping them feel understood.
Although Kristina has a particular passion for working with younger people, she also supports adults. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, family difficulties, relationship patterns or simply feeling a little lost, she offers the same gentle, accepting approach. You don’t need to reach breaking point to benefit from having someone to talk to.
Kristina sees counselling as an opportunity to pause, reflect and develop a deeper understanding of yourself. It’s not about being told who you should be; it’s about having the space to discover what matters to you and what moving forward might look like.
Kristina hopes that through counselling, people feel more connected to themselves, more able to understand their experiences and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges.
Whether you’re a young person looking for someone who will listen, a parent hoping to find support for your child, or an adult wanting to make sense of things, Kristina offers a warm and accepting space where your story matters.
Kristina offers face-to-face and online counselling.
